The Neponset River Greenway encompasses a 6.5-mile river corridor in the cities of Boston and Quincy and the Town of Milton, Massachusetts. Most of the riverbank is owned by the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation and several recreational facilities are located along the river corridor.

The Boston Natural Areas Network is a non-profit open space advocacy organization that has been involved for more than 15 years in encouraging open space protection and development along the Neponset. As part of a planning and advocacy grant from the Lila Wallace Readers Digest Fund BNAN selected Dufresne Henry, with Peter Jackson as Project Manager, to prepare a stewardship plan for the Neponset Greenway.

The project included plans for maintenance and natural resource management, park operations, greenway security, programming, partnerships, and resource needs and funding. The planning process helped strengthen a partnership for greenway development and management that has made the river corridor a valuable resource for users which has in turn spurred economic development along the river.
