Peter Jackson and Park Planning Associates have been involved with several projects at the Trailside Museum over the past 20 years. The Museum is a valuable environmental education center located in the Blue Hills Reservation and managed by the MA Audubon Society. Projects have included conceptual site plans, development of a Pond Walk, various planting projects, and a hemlock preservation program using an on-going program of basal injections.
Most recently we have prepared a site concept plan and planting plans for reconstruction of the outdoor live animal exhibits and a new outcrop exhibit. These activities have helped enhance the perennially underfunded Museum and its mission to bring an appreciation of the natural world to a broad population including many inner city kids.
